Finding your way in a different culture
I know what it’s like to arrive in a new country and have to figure everything out, the language, the customs, the unwritten rules. Over the years, I’ve lived and worked for several months in places like Ecuador and Reunion Island. Every time, I had to reinvent myself. It was exciting and enriching, but also confusing and lonely at times. You miss the familiar, and you really come face to face with yourself.
This is exactly what I recognise in the international young professionals who I coach today. No matter how smart, ambitious or energetic you are, finding your place in a new working environment can be a real challenge. I know how that feels. And I also know how to grow from it.
